Welcome to Ipswich Orthodontist
About us
We are a small, family oriented practice. We generate a relaxed, friendly and casual environment for all our patients.
When you arrive at our practice, you will be warmly welcomed by Stacey, Dr Cavallaro’s office manager and clinical assistant. Our practice is conveniently located in the medical precinct in Central Ipswich, across the road from St Andrew’s Private Hospital.
Dr Cavallaro has a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Queensland, one of Australia’s premier universities. A Master’s degree involves three years post-graduate, full-time study at an approved university, after graduation as a dentist.
Dr Cavallaro is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists as well as the American Association of Orthodontists and attends the American sessions on a regular basis, in order to keep up to date with any advances in treatment.
These sessions involve six days of lectures and clinical workshops, given by some of the best lecturers and clinicians in the world.
His aim is to give every patient a good functional occlusion (bite) as well as a perfect smile and pleasing profile.
In this practice, all work is carried out by the Orthodontist. We provide a wide range of orthodontic treatment including Invisalign, expanders, braces, retainers, plates.
Whats the difference between a Dentist and an Orthodontist?
Orthodontics is a specialised branch of dentistry that focuses on the development of the face, abnormalities of teeth and improving jaw alignment to attain the best possible function and aesthetic.
It is important to differentiate between the treatment offered by a dentist and treatment offered by an Orthodontist. It must be remembered that to qualify as an orthodontist requires three years of full-time post-graduate study at a recognized university, after graduation as a dentist.
The orthodontist is therefore able to carry out more complex procedures and consistently achieve optimal results. While dentists are legally able to offer ORTHODONTIC treatment, they cannot legally call themselves an ORTHODONTIST.
